Spellbound
Powerful men, bound to one another by the common thread running through their veins— magic. In a world of Dreamwalkers, Elementals, Vamps, and any number of other beings, torrid sex as hot and dangerous as an Incubus is certainly one thing found in abundance. But the quest for true love can be a little rough, and that’s putting it lightly.
Brought together by their desire for one another and the spells of powers they wield, unlikely pairs discover the wonders of relationships that have a healthy dose of magic on the side. And when sex, sin, and supernatural powers are all put on a collision course, the results will leave you spellbound.
Night by Erik Clarke
This is book one in the Spellbound series
Given the powers of an Incubus, could you resist the urge to take the one man you’ve always secretly wanted?
Sex makes the world go round, right?
Or so it seems to Cole Turner, a Seer who can See everyone's future except his own, when a gift from his Dreamwalking best friend Luke turns his world upside down. Overnight, Cole gains all the allure of an Incubus, drawing suitors to him like moths to a flame. But after a few days of revelling in the fun, reality takes a turn—the mysterious drug he took, known only as "Night", had to come from someone, and that someone is pissed, on a homicidal scale. Each sexual encounter makes Cole’s attraction grow stronger, making it ever-more difficult to just walk outside. And Luke, the Seer's go-to in times of need, now wants him like everyone else, a point made even worse by the secret desires Cole has for the friend he had always assumed was straight.
Swamped in sex, powerless to See if the future holds any hope for salvation, and at constant risk of losing both his best friend and his life, Cole is about to find out if he's strong enough to beat the Night racing through his system—and if his relationship with Luke is strong enough to survive it as well.

About the Author
Erik Clarke is still trying to figure out how to balance work, school, writing, and the ever—elusive "social life". He's also still trying to figure out when the outlandish plots and crazy characters he'd scribbled into the margins of his notebooks for years somehow coalesced into an actual novel.
Born in Ohio and now struggling through the constant love/hate relationship that is living in the beautiful but sweltering Arizona landscape, Erik is thankful every day for the incredible, supportive family and friends that surround him—and for the sheer joy that writing two characters to their happily ever can bring.

Night (Spellbound) is the story of two young men, Luke and Cole, who had been best friends for seven years. They've stuck by each other through family tragedy, and to add a twist, they magically compliment each other. Yes, they both are a type of magic user, Cole is a seer who hasn't reached his full abilities and Luke is a nightwalker. One is gay, the other straight.By the way, for those that hate poor descriptions of straight men suddenly going gay -- Luke may not openly say he's gay, ever, but he never denied it, either. He just didn't confirm or deny. So we assume he is straight just as Cole does. It's all a misunderstanding and compounds the angst. !!
Even though they're best friends and value each other like no other, they're both too scared to show or verbalize their love for the other. That they both want to expand their relationship beyond friendship.
So we're thrust into a situation that snowballs out of control. Luke made a poor choice and Cole stands true to his convictions -- That he doesn't want any outside influences impacting his love of Luke. If Luke returns his feelings, he wants it to be honest and not drug induced.
The author, Erik Clarke has quite an imagination. His world building was interesting and believable. This is a time when magic users are known, where vampires can work and own a night club, and supernaturals like werewolves and incubus are living amongst them. I'd love to hear more.
But the focus of this story is on Luke and Cole and their situation. I'm not one for angst. This had more than a fair share and yes we don't have things resolved until the last chapter. But the heartfelt conviction by these two in their love for each other was wonderful. . . Nothing like public confessions to get the heart pounding. . .
The story is on the long side, which means more detail, deeper characters, and just more. While it hit a lot of my buttons in a good m/m romance with a twist of paranormal. . . I found myself skipping pages as Cole was hounded, as he was trying to figure out his relationship with Luke, how to deal with an out of control incubus, and his own sexual needs. Yes, it was well written but I was still skipping.
It wasn't until he was back with Luke, setting the stage in the night club, and hoping Cole would be 'cured' of Night that I slowed down and started digging in. I'd have preferred less hookups and more on Cole owning up to his actions. But maybe the next in this series will cover that as well as Cole's new unexplained powers. Oh yes, interesting but no explanation. Not quite a cliff hanger but enough interest to make me wonder why those threads are left hanging, in a book of this length. -- Dan's Wife

Night Spellbound Book 1 edition by Erik Clarke Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Cole Turner is an anomaly in the paranormal community. As a latent seer he can see everyone’s future except his own or someone closely involved with him. It’s beyond frustrating to be able to advise others on their future and have no clue as to where his own life is heading. His best friend Luke Cowen is a dreamwalker, he’s straight and he’s the only man Cole will ever love.
A visit with Luke prior to a date has unexpected consequences when the dreamwalker gives the seer a vial of “Night” as a gift. Cole mistakes its purpose and suddenly his life turns into a sexual nightmare.
Making matters worse an incubus is after him with deadly intent. Apparently the Night belongs to the sex demon. It’s not Cole’s fault that substance has made him a magnet for all things erotic. Certain that their friendship would be destroyed if Luke fell under the spell of Night Cole doesn’t know what to do. And it’s only getting worse.
Sexual excess isn’t quite so fun. In Night a latent seer discovers the down side of sexual overkill and pays the price. The first book in the Spellbound series offers a unique situation when Cole is faced with more sex than he knows what to do with. At first somewhat comical, later not so much. Miscommunication keeps Cole and Luke apart, each suffering in silence until luckily they figure it out. Whatever comes next in this series, Night is scorching hot.

I love anything supernatural, so I thought I would like this one..... No. I found it very annoying to be reading, what was happening at that moment, one minute.... and then reading a flashback a few sentences later. Once or twice in the entire book, is ok.... but not not in each chapter.
This book grabs you immediately and it's very hard to put down. I read it one sitting. It's filled with twists and turns. You find yourself rooting for the Cole even when he's ready to give up on himself.
I enjoyed Cole and Luke's courtship dance in this new paranormal romance. Why not 5 stars? well all the angst is due to misunderstanding and bad communication, which I hate. The ending was kinda rushed also, but it was a nice long read so kudos for that. It also has one of the main characters having sex with other men which is a bummer, but once again a nice HEA! You can't go wrong with the price so check it out!
